Turquoise: 2010's color of the year

We received an email last month from one of our vendors regarding the hot color of 2010! Of course it happens to be one of my favorite colors(in fact it's the color of the diamond on my engagement ring, the color of the shirt i'm wearing, and the color of my earrings!! :) Soooooo......I felt it necessary to share it with all of you! Here is what our vendor Global Views has to say about 2010's color of the year.............
 Turquoise

"Rich and vibrant turquoise takes top honors as 2010 color of the year from Pantone, the recognized expert on color. All shades of blue have long been amongst America's favorite hues, whether in fashion, home, or crayons. Color it blue.

Today's turquoise goes sophisticated when paired with grey, particularly in contemporary interiors and becomes a bit more lively when teamed with chartreuse or orange (loved by most of us in small doses). The color holds up well with golds, browns and other shades of blue.

The feeling of turquoise is calming and serene – think tropical oceans – and some cultures believe the color to be a protective talisman. Taking its shade from the colors of the sea and the sky, turquoise evokes a momentary escape to a tropical island.

This hue is perfect throughout the house to brighten existing décor. It complements reds and pinks, pairs with deeper blues to become nautical and livens up other greens. Pair turquoise with yellow-greens for the hottest look of the season"-----Global Views
